About Sara Paul

Sara Paul is a founding team member and serves as the Community Manager for Watch Duty. In her role, she works closely with Watch Duty’s more than 400 volunteers and small staff team to support operations, reporting, volunteer recruitment, and training.

Sara began reporting on wildfires in Sonoma County in 2017 and joined Watch Duty as a volunteer in summer 2021. Over the past five years, she has contributed to wildfire operations, emergency reporting, and the development of the volunteer network that helps deliver critical information to the public.

She is a certified wildfire mitigation manager, a GMRS radio user, and holds multiple FEMA certifications. Sara has also served on the boards of her local Fire Protection District and Safer West County in Sonoma.
