Amateur Radio Field Day

Amateur Radio Field Day on June 27, 11 AM-5 PM at Kensington Park. Learn emergency communication, test radios, and join classes.

Please join us and help support Amateur Radio's annual open house, Summer Field Day, Saturday June 27 at Kensington Park, Arlington Ave at Kensington Park Road (see attached flyer for location). The general public is welcome from 11AM Saturday to 5PM.

More than 31,000 hams throughout North America will be setting up temporary transmitting stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill, and service to our communities and our nation. Field Day combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills all in a single event. Field Day has been an annual National event since 1933 and remains the most popular event in ham radio.

This is a great opportunity to meet your local Amateur Radio operators from the Karo Echo Amateur Radio Club in person to socialize, share knowledge and get on the air to contact amateur radio operators worldwide.

There will be will informational Tables and an introduction to amatuer radio for the public seminar at 1PM.  We will also be operating two High Frequency (HF) voice stations, a CW (Morse Code) station, an HF digital station, and an HF “Get on the Air” station where anyone, even if you don't have a license, can make worldwide contacts We will also be making contacts with satellites and perhaps the International Space Station.
