Chief Pigoni was promoted to Fire Chief effective December 31, 2018.  Chief Pigoni says he is honored to have an opportunity to lead the men and women who dedicate and risk their lives to protect and provide emergency care to the public.

Chief Pigoni came to the community as a firefighter in 1995, was promoted to Captain in 2000, and then to Battalion Chief in 2007.  Over the years, he has been responsible for overseeing the Fire Department's fleet, securing grants, and developing the department's technical rescue capabilities.  As a Battalion Chief, Chief Pigoni was responsible for the department's operation needs including policy and procedure development and implementation.  He is a strike team and task force leader as well as a member of the East Bay Incident Management Team.

His priorities will be focused on working with Public Works, partnering agencies, and the public to continue and increase our vegetation management programs.  There will be a renewed focus on emergency operations and updating plans to insure the community is properly trained to handle potential disasters such as a large earthquake.
