The fire department will install smoke detectors free of charge for elderly and disabled Kensington and El Cerrito residents. Residents must purchase and provide their own smoke detectors prior to installation. For more information, please call 510-215-4450 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The department's goal is to have a working smoke detector in every home!
