The Fire Department provides child safety seat checks and installations. This program allows Kensington and El Cerrito residents to schedule an installation and learn how to property install a child car seat themselves.  Three of our firefighters have completed Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician Training and will be taking continuing education in order to keep up with ever-changing automobile standards and car seat models. Considering that most child safety seats are installed incorrectly by mostly well-meaning parents and guardians, this service is critical to the survival and well-being of Kensington's youngest citizens.
